Per-Stylist Service Overrides
One menu, different prices and durations per person — without duplicating the service.
A senior stylist charges $75 for a cut. A junior charges $45. It is the same service.
The wrong answer is two services called "Cut (Senior)" and "Cut (Junior)". It splits your reporting, doubles your menu, and confuses clients who are choosing a person, not a tier.
The right answer is a per-stylist override.
Where they live
Open the service and go to the Stylist Overrides tab. For each stylist you can change:
- Price for this service.
- Duration for this service.
- Availability — whether they offer it at all.
- Other per-stylist properties the service supports.
Everyone you do not override keeps the service's own values.
Duration matters as much as price
A junior taking 45 minutes for a cut a senior does in 25 is not an administrative detail — it is what makes the calendar honest and what makes online booking stop double-booking people.
Set both. Overriding price and leaving duration alone is the most common half-done version of this.
Hours per stylist
The last four tabs of the service editor go further:
- Hours Available and Hours Exceptions — when this service can be booked at all.
- Hours Per Stylist and Exceptions Per Stylist — when it can be booked with a specific person.
By default a service is bookable whenever the stylist is working. Turn on Override Work Hours only when the service genuinely has narrower hours — a treatment that needs the back room, or a service one stylist only offers on Thursdays.
When the override is on, the offering hours replace the working hours. When it is off, every day is prefilled as open 24 hours and the working hours stay the single source of truth. Perceny re-seeds the week when you flip it, so you are never left with a half-configured schedule.
Personal services
A service only one stylist offers does not belong in the shared menu at all. Those are personal services, created on the stylist rather than on the business.
Default Personal Booking Visibility Mode (Appointment Settings) sets the default booking-link visibility for newly created personal services and categories.
What the client sees
The price and duration shown while booking are the ones for the stylist they picked. If they choose Any Available Stylist, the shape of that depends on your Any-Stylist settings — worth checking with a test booking after you set up overrides, because "any" and "specific" can legitimately show different prices.
