Your Plan, Add-Ons and Coupons
What your subscription covers, how to add two-way messaging or extra phone numbers, what happens when you cancel one, and why the app sometimes hides billing.
Your Perceny bill has three parts: the plan, any add-ons, and anything you have bought on top (messaging credits). This page is about the first two. Payouts — the money coming to you — are a different thing entirely, covered in Payouts, fast payouts and your Perceny bill.
Where it livesCopy a link to this section
Business Settings → Billing, visible to the owner only. Not managers, not global support staff — strictly the owner.
Add-onsCopy a link to this section
Add-ons extend the plan without changing it. Each row shows its monthly price ("$X/month"), and Add to Subscription buys it.
The two you are most likely to want:
- Two-Way Messaging — "Unlock the two-way inbox: see and reply to client texts and emails from one thread, plus 15 extra credits every month." See The two-way inbox.
- Additional Phone Number — "Extra dedicated phone numbers for your team, billed per number. Your first number is always free."
Perceny tells you exactly what buying it costs before you agree: "You'll be charged $X today and $X/month going forward, billed to your card ending in NNNN. Cancel anytime from the Add-Ons section."
Rows can also say:
- "Included in your plan" — you already have it; there is nothing to buy.
- "Renews on {date}" — active, with its next charge.
- Complimentary / No charge — "Perceny granted this add-on to your business. Contact support to make changes."
- "N extra number(s)" — a quantity add-on, where the count comes from elsewhere.
Phone numbers are managed on the messaging pageCopy a link to this section
This trips people up. The extra-numbers add-on is billed here but managed there: "Numbers are added and removed from the messaging page."
So to add a second number you go to Messaging → Phone Numbers and provision one; the subscription line follows automatically. And if messaging is unavailable for your business, the billing page says so rather than letting you strand a charge: "Messaging is unavailable for your business, so numbers cannot be changed here. Contact support to remove numbers and stop this charge."
See Your texting numbers.
Cancelling an add-onCopy a link to this section
Two possible outcomes, and the confirmation tells you which you are getting:
- "You keep access until {date}. No further charges after that." — you have paid for the period; you keep it.
- "This add-on ends right away. No further charges after that."
Cancelling the extra-numbers add-on and cancelling the numbers themselves are not the same action. Remove the number on the messaging page — that is what stops the charge, and it comes with a three-month restore window. Cancelling billing alone leaves you in an inconsistent state you will have to call us about.
Add-ons need a subscriptionCopy a link to this section
You cannot buy an add-on without an active subscription and a saved card:
- "Add-ons are billed with your Perceny subscription. Set up an active subscription first to purchase add-ons."
- "An active subscription with a saved payment method is required to purchase add-ons."
Other messages you may see: "This add-on is not available on your current plan.", "This add-on is already active for your business.", "Payment past due", "Payment failed". A past-due plan is worth fixing the same day — a failed subscription charge eventually affects the features that depend on it.
CouponsCopy a link to this section
If Perceny has given you a coupon code, you redeem it against your subscription from the billing area. It applies as a discount on the Perceny bill — it is not a client-facing discount and has nothing to do with the discounts you create for your own clients. Those are Apply discounts and promo codes.
Why billing sometimes disappears in the appCopy a link to this section
Open the app's menu and you may find no Billing row at all. Three reasons, all deliberate:
- You are not the owner. The row is owner-only, strictly.
- This is a demo business. There is no real subscription behind it.
- App store rules. In regions where steering users to pay outside the app store is not allowed, the app hides the entry point entirely.
Where it does appear in the app, it opens in your device browser rather than inside the app — a purchase flow never renders in-app.
Use the web dashboard for billing and none of this applies.
Credits are not a subscriptionCopy a link to this section
Messaging credits are bought separately, in packs, and can top themselves up automatically. They are not part of the plan and running out of them does not affect your subscription — it just stops your texts. See Credits, segments and auto recharge.
