Add Your Team

Inviting members, choosing roles, setting commission percentages, and what each new person needs before their first ticket.

Invite

Invite Stylist in the left navigation. Perceny sends an invitation; the person creates their own login and joins your business.

You can invite before you have decided anything else about them. Roles, percentages and preferences are all editable afterwards.

Choose a role

Four roles, in rising order of reach:

  • Stylist — works, sells, sees their own book.
  • Cashier — takes payment at the desk, usually across everyone's tickets.
  • Manager — runs the day: staff, schedules, approvals, most settings.
  • Owner — everything, including billing and configuration.

The role is a starting point, not a cage. Every role's permissions can be adjusted for the business, and any individual can be given or denied a specific permission. See Roles and permissions explained.

Set their commission

Percentage in the left navigation is where pay rates live. What you set here drives the commission column on every ticket they close.

If some services pay differently, set a custom commission on the service rather than trying to encode it in the person's rate. See Choose a commission model.

Set their hours

A member with no hours is bookable nowhere. Open their Preferences → Hours Available and set the week, then add exceptions for the days that differ.

If they work the shop's hours, use the Default to business schedule button rather than retyping them — it copies the business hours and exceptions across.

Their photo and public profile

From the member editor you can upload their photo and set:

  • Display name — what clients see, which need not be their legal name.
  • Title — "Senior Stylist", "Barber", "Colour Specialist".
  • Colour — their colour on the calendar.
  • Public on booking website and Public at kiosk — whether clients can pick them.
  • Social links and a review URL.

What they can change themselves

A member's own Preferences screen only shows the fields you allow. That list is set once for the business under Features Configuration → Member Management Settings. See Choose what staff can change about themselves.

Before their first shift

A five-minute checklist:

  1. Role assigned.
  2. Commission percentage set.
  3. Weekly hours set.
  4. Public on booking, if they take online bookings.
  5. Their services available to them — check the Stylist Overrides tab on anything priced differently for them.
  6. They have installed the Perceny app and can see their own calendar.

When someone leaves

Do not delete them. Disable the membership instead: their history, tickets and commission stay intact and their name stops appearing on the calendar and the booking page. Deleting a person who has closed tickets is how reports develop holes.
