Set Up Your Shop in Perceny
The first hour: business details, hours, your service menu, your team, and taking a first payment.
This is the order to do things in. Each step unlocks the next, so working out of order creates rework.
1. Business information
Business Settings → Information.
Fill in the name, legal name, address, phone and email. Three fields deserve more thought than they get:
- Location ID — the short identifier that appears in your booking links. Pick it once; changing it later breaks links you have already shared.
- Time zone — everything in Perceny is calculated against it. Get it right before you create a single appointment.
- Business type and business model — these change defaults elsewhere, including how commission and money-holding behave.
Upload your logo while you are here. It appears on receipts, your booking page and your website.
There is a search box at the top of this tab if you are hunting for a specific field.
2. Currency and country
Country and currency are shown here but set by Perceny support, not by you. If either is wrong, fix it before you take money — changing it afterwards does not retro-convert what you have already recorded.
3. Business hours
Business Settings → Work Hours.
Set the week. Then add exceptions for the days that differ: holidays, a late start, a one-off closure. Exceptions beat the weekly pattern, and they are the right tool for "we close early on Christmas Eve" — do not edit the weekly hours for a single day.
4. Your service menu
Services and Products. See Build your service menu.
At minimum, each service needs a name, a price and a duration. Duration is what makes online booking honest, so guess high rather than low at first.
5. Your team
Invite Stylist, then set each person up. See Add your team.
Every member needs a role and, if you pay commission, a percentage. Percentages live under Percentage.
6. Payments
Connect your payment account and, if you use one, pair a card reader. Then open Features Configuration → Payment Settings and set:
- Payment Methods — what you accept.
- Default Payment Type — what a new ticket starts on.
- Tips: whether the terminal asks, and how a tip is split on a shared ticket.
7. Take one test ticket
Do not skip this. Create a ticket, add a service, add a tip, and check out with each payment method you enabled. Then look at:
- Earnings — did the commission land where you expected?
- Cash Register — did the cash reach the drawer?
- The receipt — does it say what you want it to say?
Fixing a misconfiguration now costs five minutes. Fixing it after a month of real tickets costs an evening of corrections.
8. Turn on booking
Once the menu and the team are real, open booking:
- Features Configuration → Appointment Settings for slot increments, notice and limits.
- Features Configuration → Website Settings to enable your Perceny website.
- Booking Links to get the URL to share.
What to leave for later
Memberships, rewards, gift cards, discounts, the kiosk, invoices and marketing blasts are all worth having, and none of them are worth having on day one. Get the core loop — book, serve, charge, pay out — working first.
