Choose Your Receptionist's Voice

Pick the voice callers hear in each language, play a sample before you keep it, decide how it delivers a greeting or a confirmation, and teach it the words it gets wrong.

When the AI receptionist answers your phone, it speaks with a voice you choose. It has one voice per language, so a caller who speaks Spanish hears a native Spanish voice, never an English voice doing an accent. You pick each one, hear it first, and decide how it delivers what it says.

Open Automation & AI → AI Assistant, switch on Answer Phone Calls, and unfold the phone section. The Phone Voice card lists one picker per language: English Voice, Spanish Voice, Chinese Voice, Arabic Voice and Polish Voice. The receptionist picks the voice by the language the caller is speaking, on that call, so you set each language once and never think about it again.

Pick a voice and hear itCopy a link to this section

Each picker opens the catalogue for that language: the voice's name, a few words on how it sounds, and a Premium badge where it applies. The voice marked (Recommended) is the one you get until you choose another. Every voice is native to its language.

Press Play Sample beside a picker to hear the selected voice read your own greeting, the way a caller would hear it on the phone. Press Stop Sample to stop. If the sample cannot be played, the card says so: "The sample could not be played. Try again in a moment."

Premium voices bill your AI calls at the premium rate; the card shows what that costs and a Use Standard Voices button that puts every language back on a standard voice in one click.

How the voice delivers each sentenceCopy a link to this section

Below the pickers, How the Voice Delivers Each Sentence has two choices:

  • Natural (the default): the voice shapes each sentence to the moment. A greeting is light, a question lifts, and a confirmation or anything read back for you to check (a time, a price, a phone number, an address) is said slower and clearer, with a short pause between the groups of a number: "eight zero one, seven zero nine, one one seven one", "two... thirty".
  • Even: one steady pace throughout, for a shop that would rather the voice never changed its delivery.

Whichever you choose, prices, times, dates and phone numbers are said in words, the way a person says them, in the caller's language ("forty-five dollars", "cuarenta y cinco dólares", "Thursday the sixteenth of October"), long sentences are split so each carries one idea, and your address is read out in full once a call, then by its street name.

Teach it your wordsCopy a link to this section

Under Pronunciations, add a word the voice says wrong (a service, a product, a staff name) and how it sounds, spelled the way it is said. The voice reads it your way on every call.

In a location groupCopy a link to this section

Settings are saved per location. On the group's own settings page, the same Phone Voice card picks the voices for the shared line and for every location that has not picked its own: a location that leaves a language on its default speaks with the group's voice for it, and one that picks its own keeps that pick. A call always uses the voices of the location it is answered for.
