Features Configuration: A Tour
What each of the twenty tabs in Features Configuration controls, and which one to open when you want to change something.
Features Configuration is where you turn Perceny's behaviour on and off for the whole business: booking, the kiosk, payments, memberships, notifications, and more. It lives on the web dashboard under Business Settings → Features Configuration, and you need the Features Configuration permission to open it.
Every switch saves the moment you flip it. There is no Save button, and no way to lose a change by navigating away.
The tabs, and what each one owns
Ticket Settings — how a ticket is built and closed: multiple services, quantities, personalised services, collaboration approval, cash change, receipt printing, and the shift-list rules that hide someone when they have an appointment coming up.
Appointment Settings — everything about the calendar and online booking: slot increments, minimum notice, daily limits, buffers, confirmation rules, auto-finish, gap filling, deposits' timing, and how stylists are presented to clients.
Kiosk Settings — the tablet at your front desk: which options appear on the home screen, how the walk-in waitlist is ordered, whether a card is captured, and every walk-in deposit, no-show and cancellation fee.
Payment Settings — accepted payment methods, tips, processing fees and surcharges, prepayment and cancellation fees, discount thresholds, and Stylist Keeps Cash.
Terminal Pictures — the images shown on your card reader between transactions.
Device Slideshows — full-screen slideshows for a kiosk or display device when it is idle.
Device Lock — pinning a device to one mode so a client cannot wander out of the kiosk.
Invoice Settings — how invoices interact with the cash register and tips.
Dispute Settings — who may view and respond to payment disputes.
Client Settings — whether stylists can see each other's clients, and whether the client's relationship manager is visible.
Member Management Settings — the attendance prompt, and (importantly) which preferences a member may edit about themselves. See Choose what staff can change about themselves.
Terminology — rename the words Perceny uses. If you run a barbershop, "Stylist" can be "Barber" everywhere in the product.
Cash Register Settings — the opening balance, instant tip payouts, and which revenue types count toward the drawer.
Summary and Statistics — what the Period Summary shows: booth rental earnings, the kept-cash breakdown, and whether a negative balance reads as "Pay The Salon".
Product Settings — who may create, edit and sell products.
Room Settings — who may manage rooms.
Competition Settings — the daily leaderboard.
Website Settings — your Perceny website: whether it is on, what it shows, and your Google Tag and Meta Pixel tracking IDs.
Communications — every client and staff notification, channel by channel.
Elite Features — GPS-based absence marking (Elite plans only).
Integrations — API tokens and webhooks for connecting Perceny to other systems.
Two things worth knowing before you start
Most tabs also carry permissions. Several tabs open with a permissions block at the top: a small tab strip of Stylist / Cashier / Owner / Manager, each with the toggles for that category. Changing a permission there changes it for everyone with that role. To change it for one person only, use their member editor instead — see Roles and permissions explained.
Almost everything here has a personal override. A setting in Features Configuration is the business default. Most of them can be overridden for a single member in their Preferences. When a member's preference is left on "Default to Business Settings", they follow whatever you set here.
Finding a setting without reading twenty tabs
Use the search box at the top of the page. It searches every tab at once and flattens them while you type. See Find any setting fast.
