Find Any Setting Fast
Perceny has hundreds of settings across twenty tabs. Here is how to stop hunting and just search for the one you want.
There is a search box at the top of every settings-heavy screen in Perceny. It is the fastest way to change something when you know what it does but not what tab it lives on.
Where the search box is
On the web dashboard you will find it at the top of:
- Business Settings → Features Configuration — every product behaviour, across all twenty tabs.
- Business Settings → Information — your name, address, payment details, social links.
- Preferences (the per-person Work Settings modal) — one member's own overrides.
- Edit membership — the manager's editor for a member.
- Create / Edit service — everything about one service.
- Discounts and Membership plans.
In the Perceny app it appears on Preferences and on the member editor sheet, over exactly the same fields.
How to use it
- Start typing what the setting does, not what it is called. Searching
cash tipfinds "Pay Cash Tips Instantly";no showfinds every no-show fee field. - Terms can be in any order and punctuation is ignored, so
tip cashandCash-Tips!find the same rows. - While you are searching, the tabs flatten. Every section is shown at once under its own heading, and the sections with nothing matching disappear. That is the point: you do not have to guess which tab it was on.
- Press Escape or click the ✕ to clear the box and drop back into the normal tabs.
What it searches
Each setting is matched on its label, its helper text, and its internal field name. That last one matters more than it sounds: if a teammate or a support agent tells you to change isStylistKeepCash, you can paste that straight in and land on Stylist Keeps Cash.
Section titles count too. Searching kiosk opens the whole Kiosk Settings tab rather than the two switches that happen to repeat the word — so you can use it to jump to a tab as well as to a switch.
When nothing matches
You will see a "No settings match" panel with the query you typed. Two things usually cause it:
- The word is not in the copy. Try a shorter piece of it —
depositinstead ofdeposit percentage. - The setting is not on this screen. Features Configuration controls the whole business; Preferences controls one person. If you are searching Preferences for something that only exists business-wide, you will not find it there. See Business settings vs. personal preferences.
A worked example
Say a stylist tells you tips are not reaching them. You do not remember where that lives.
- Open Business Settings → Features Configuration.
- Type
tipsin the search box. - You now see every tip-related setting at once, grouped by tab: Transfer Tips to Stylists and Tip Distribution under Payment Settings, Pay Cash Tips Instantly under Cash Register Settings, Hide Tips From Walk-In Kiosk under Kiosk Settings.
- Read the helper text under each, change the one you meant, and clear the search.
Every switch in Features Configuration saves as soon as you flip it. Text and number fields save about a second after you stop typing.
