Kiosk Settings, Switch by Switch
Every setting on the Kiosk Settings tab: the home screen, the walk-in waitlist, card capture, deposits and walk-in fees.
Features Configuration → Kiosk Settings covers the tablet clients touch when they walk in: what it offers, how the queue is ordered, and what it collects before someone joins the line.
The tab opens with the Kiosk permission category.

Four switches remove options from the kiosk home screen:
- Hide Book Appointment from Kiosk
- Hide Check-In Appointment from Kiosk
- Hide Walk-In from Kiosk
- Hide Waitlist Status from Kiosk
Show Menu in Kiosk adds a button for clients to browse your full service list.
The walk-in flowCopy a link to this section
Choose Stylist Before Service: asks kiosk clients to pick a stylist first, then a service.
Hide Stylists in Kiosk: hides individual stylists, so clients can only choose Any Available Stylist.
Skip Service Selection in Kiosk: clients only choose a stylist; the service is decided in the chair.
Single shared waitlist (join the business): kiosk walk-ins join one queue for the whole shop rather than a stylist's own. The stylist step is skipped, the wait estimate comes from the soonest availability across the business, and a stylist is assigned later, before checkout. This is the barbershop-style setup.
Customize Any Available Stylist (Walk-Ins): how the Any Available option is worded and presented.
Required Client Fields (Kiosk Walk-in): which client details are mandatory.
Hide Prices from Kiosk Walk-In: hides service prices on the walk-in screens.
Ordering the queueCopy a link to this section
Prioritize Availability for Walk-Ins: orders the waitlist by which stylists are free soonest rather than by arrival time.
Respect Walk-In Waitlist Order: when people are already waiting, a new walk-in is placed after the last person in line instead of filling the first available gap. This is the "no queue jumping" switch.
Show Estimated Wait Time: shows clients an estimate when they join.
Maximum walk-in wait time (minutes): if the estimate exceeds this, the kiosk suggests booking an appointment instead. 0 means no limit.
Check-in locationCopy a link to this section
Restrict Check-In With GPS: blocks a client from checking in when their phone is too far from the shop.
Allowed Check-In Distance (meters): how far is too far.
Cards and depositsCopy a link to this section
This block is where most of the money rules live. Read Deposits and prepayment alongside it.
Enable card capture for kiosk booking: lets clients add a card when booking at the kiosk, by tapping it on the reader or entering it on screen. Whether that saves a card or charges a deposit follows your regular appointment prepay settings.
Require card for kiosk walk-ins: clients must add a card on the reader before joining the walk-in waitlist. Off by default, so walk-ins can pay later.
Walk-in card capture sets what happens when someone joins the queue: save a card on file, or charge a deposit.
Always require a card on file: every walk-in must at least save a card before joining. This is the kiosk equivalent of the booking-side "always require card on file".
Require a deposit from new clients: a client's first walk-in must leave a deposit, mirroring the new-client prepay rule in booking.
Honor must-prepay clients at the kiosk: a client flagged "prepay required" is charged a full deposit on a kiosk walk-in, exactly as on their bookings.
Walk-in deposit amount: a fixed amount charged as the deposit. Leave empty to use a percentage instead.
Walk-in deposit percentage: a percentage of the ticket total, used when no fixed amount is set.
Walk-in no-shows and cancellationsCopy a link to this section
Walk-in no-show fee / Walk-in no-show fee percentage: charged on the saved card when a walk-in is marked a no-show. The fixed amount wins; leave it empty to use the percentage.
Walk-in cancellation fee / Walk-in cancellation fee percentage: the same, for a cancelled walk-in.
Charge Default Card on File for Walk-In No-Shows: when the walk-in itself had no card attached, fall back to the client's default card.
Charge Default Card on File for Walk-In Cancellations: the same, for cancellations.
Require Card After Walk-In No-Show: a client must keep a card on file before joining a waitlist again after a no-show. This includes choosing "I'm not coming" or declining arrival.
Require Card After Walk-In Cancellation: the same, after a staff-resolved cancellation made past the configured wait.
Walk-In Cancellation Window (Minutes): how many minutes after joining a cancellation counts as late. 0 means every cancellation counts.
Show No-Show Policy For Pay-In-Person Walk-Ins: discloses the policy on the confirmation screen even when no card step was shown. Turn this on if you intend to enforce fees; a policy nobody saw is hard to defend.
Tips at the kioskCopy a link to this section
Hide Tips From Walk-In Kiosk: turns tips off everywhere in the walk-in kiosk, for every payment method. It overrides the setting below.
Also Ask for Tips When Paying in Person: by default the kiosk only asks for a tip when the client pays now, by card or tap. Turn this on to also ask when they choose to pay in person.
Closing walk-in tickets automaticallyCopy a link to this section
Auto-Finish Walk-In Tickets: closes the walk-in ticket after its end time. This covers pay-in-person and cash walk-ins, and save-card-on-file walk-ins (which close as cash, with the saved card kept only for a possible no-show fee).
Auto-Finish Delay (minutes): how long to wait first.
Auto Finish Time Reference: whether the delay counts from the walk-in's start or end time.
Thank-You Message Delay (minutes): holds the client thank-you until this many minutes after the walk-in's end time, so it never lands mid-visit.
Auto-Finish Deposit Walk-Ins: closes walk-ins where a deposit was charged, and charges the remaining balance to the saved card. This is separate from the general setting above, which covers pay-in-person, cash and save-card walk-ins.
Deposit Walk-In Auto-Finish Delay (minutes) and Deposit Walk-In Auto-Finish Reference: the same two controls for those.
