Client, Member and Terminology Settings
Sharing clients between stylists, choosing what staff may change about themselves, and renaming the words Perceny uses.
Client Settings
Two switches, both about who can see whose clients.
Allow Sharing Clients — lets stylists view and select clients that belong to other stylists. Off, each stylist works from their own book. On, the shop shares one client list.
This is a genuine business decision, not a technical one. Commission-based shops that treat clients as the shop's usually turn it on; booth-rental shops usually leave it off.
Show Client Contact Person — lets stylists see the client's relationship manager: the contact person whose phone and email are used for the appointment. Relevant when you book families or companies under one contact.
The tab also carries the Client permission category — who may create, edit, merge and delete clients.
Member Management Settings
Auto-Open Attendance Prompt — shows the attendance prompt the first time a member opens the business each day, before they have marked attendance. The quickest way to get reliable clock-in data.
Select editable options — the big one. This is the allow-list of preferences a member may change about themselves in their own Preferences screen. Everything not ticked here is manager-only.
There are Select all, Deselect all and Reset to default buttons. Start from the default and add rather than starting from everything.
This list matters more than it looks: it is the difference between a stylist adjusting their own notification settings (fine) and a stylist adjusting their own commission-adjacent settings (not fine). See Choose what staff can change about themselves.
The tab also carries the Member permission category.
Terminology
Perceny ships with salon vocabulary. If you run a barbershop, a studio, a clinic or a gym, the words are wrong for you.
The Terminology tab lets you rename them. Change "Stylist" to "Barber" and the whole product follows: menus, buttons, notifications, the booking page, and the helper text under every setting.
Terminology is saved with an explicit Save on this tab rather than instantly, because a rename touches every screen at once. See Rename Stylist to Barber.
