Someone Cannot See a Page

The order to check when a person is missing a screen, a button, or a number they should have.

Beginner5 minWeb & app

"It's not there on my phone" is the most common support question in any shop. It is nearly always one of six things, in this order.

1. Is it a permission?

Most missing screens are a missing permission. Permissions resolve in three layers:

  1. The role default.
  2. Your business-wide edits to that role, on the relevant Features Configuration tab.
  3. That person's individual grants and denials, on their member editor's Permissions tab.

The most specific wins, so an individual denial beats a role grant. Check all three before concluding anything.

2. Is the screen open from before the change?

Permissions propagate live, but a screen already rendered is showing what it loaded. Ask them to back out and reopen it.

3. Is it web-only?

Some surfaces are deliberately not in the app: Features Configuration, business information, work hours, the service catalogue editor, the full report library, audit logs, monitoring. See Perceny on the web and in the app.

4. Is it hidden by a setting rather than a permission?

Several settings remove things from the interface for everyone:

  • Hide Floating Checkout Button — the checkout button, on every page.
  • Hide Service Timer — the ticket timer.
  • The four Hide … from Kiosk switches.
  • Hide Stylists in Booking / in Kiosk.
  • Hide Tips … in several places.
  • Enable Website — the whole public site.

If it is missing for everybody, it is a setting. If it is missing for one person, it is a permission or a preference.

5. Is it a personal preference?

A preference set to "No" overrides the business default for that person. Open their Preferences and search for it. See Business settings vs. personal preferences.

6. Is the membership disabled or expired?

A member can have an effective date and an expiration date. Outside that window, access goes away. Check their member editor.

Earnings specifically

"They cannot see the numbers" is usually the Summary permission category, and Perceny distinguishes between seeing earnings generally and seeing today's takings. Check both — they are separate permissions on purpose.

Still stuck?

Audit Logs will tell you whether a permission was changed, by whom, and when. That usually ends the conversation.
