Track Your Own Ads per Link and per Stylist
Give a booking link or a stylist their own Google Tag, Google Ads booking conversion and Meta Pixel, so every ad account sees the bookings it paid for, and nothing more.
Three places a tracking ID can liveCopy a link to this section
Perceny can report a booking to more than one ad account at once. There are three places to put tracking IDs, and each one answers a different question:
| Where | Whose ads it is for |
|---|---|
| Features Configuration → Website Settings | The business, on every page |
| Business Settings → Custom Booking Links, on one link | A campaign that uses that link |
| Ad Tracking in a stylist's member editor | A stylist who runs ads for their own book |
Each place takes the same three kinds of ID, up to ten of each (on Website Settings they are called Google Tag ID, Google Book Conversion Label and Meta Pixel ID):
- Google Tag IDs: like
AW-123456789(or aG-analytics ID). - Google Ads Booking Conversions: the full conversion,
AW-123456789/AbCdEfGhIj. Copy it from the conversion action in Google Ads; the part after the slash is the label. - Meta Pixel IDs: the number from Meta Events Manager.
An ID that is not in the right shape is dropped when you save, so check the field after saving.
Which IDs fire on a bookingCopy a link to this section
- The business IDs always fire, on every page and every booking, wherever the client came from.
- A link's IDs fire for bookings made through that link, on top of the business IDs.
- A stylist's IDs fire for every booking with that stylist, from any page: the general booking page, a booking link, the website, the widget. A booking with two stylists reports to both.
So a stylist who pays for their own ads sees every booking they get, and the business still sees all of them.
Where a stylist's tags load (and why)Copy a link to this section
A stylist's tags and pixels are loaded only on pages that belong to that stylist:
- their personal booking link, and
- a booking link limited to only them (Staff → Only Selected with just that one stylist).
On the shop's general pages their tags do not load, even though their booking conversion still fires when a client books them there.
This protects the shop's audience. A pixel that loads on a page sees everyone who visits it: page views, the services they looked at, people who left without booking. If a stylist's pixel loaded on the general booking page, their ad account would be building audiences from the whole shop's traffic, including clients of every other stylist. Loading it only on their own pages means their account sees their own visitors, plus the bookings made with them, and nothing else.
Point a stylist's ads at their personal booking link, or at a link limited to them, so their ad platform sees the whole journey from the click to the booking.
Set up a link's trackingCopy a link to this section
- Business Settings → Custom Booking Links, then Create or Edit on the link.
- Fill in Google Tag IDs, Google Ads Booking Conversions and Meta Pixel IDs for the campaign.
- Save, then Open the link and make a test booking.
See Create Custom Booking Links for the rest of the form.
Set up a stylist's trackingCopy a link to this section
- Open Members and the stylist's row to reach the member editor (on web or in the app).
- Find the Ad Tracking section (type
ad trackinginto the editor's search box). - Fill in their Google Tag IDs, Google Ads Booking Conversions and Meta Pixel IDs, and save.
A stylist setting their own IDs finds the same section in My Preferences → Ad Tracking, and in the share sheet when they pick their personal booking link, on web and in the app.
Who can set them:
- Manage Booking Links lets someone set the tracking IDs of any team member. Owners and managers have it by default.
- Manage Own Ad Tracking lets a stylist set their own IDs, and nobody else's. It is off by default for stylists and cashiers. Turn it on in the permissions block of Features Configuration → Website Settings, for a whole role or for one person from the Permissions tab of their member editor.
Browser only, for nowCopy a link to this section
Link and stylist conversions are reported from the client's browser, when the booking completes. An ad blocker or a browser that blocks tracking can stop them, so expect the numbers in Google Ads or Meta to be a little lower than the bookings Perceny shows.
The server-side conversions that Perceny sends to your own Meta and GA4 are for the business tracking only. Link and stylist IDs are not sent server-side yet.
For an exact count of what a link booked, read its Bookings column in Business Settings → Booking Links.
Checklist before the ads go liveCopy a link to this section
- The conversion is in
AW-…/labelform, not just the label. - Test-book from the exact page the ad points to, on a phone, with no ad blocker.
- Check Google Tag Assistant or the Meta Pixel Helper on that page.
- Give it a day: both platforms take hours to show a conversion.
