Communications and Messaging Settings

Client and staff notifications, the channels they use, and how the messaging inbox is configured.

Intermediate6 minWeb dashboard

Features Configuration → Communications holds every automatic message Perceny sends, grouped by who receives it and what it is about. If a client says they never got a reminder, or a stylist says they get too many pings, this is the tab.

How the tab is laid out

Notifications are grouped into sections, and each group is a card. Inside a card you get:

  • A row per notification type.
  • Per-channel sub-toggles on each row — typically push, email and text, depending on the notification.
  • An audience control where a notification can go to more than one kind of person.

Turning a whole group off is faster than switching every row inside it, and turning the group back on restores the rows as they were.

What is worth checking first

Appointment reminders. The reminder timing fields decide how far ahead a client is nudged. If you also wrote Custom policy text on the Appointment Settings tab, it is included in the reminder.

Confirmation and change messages. These fire on booking, reschedule, cancellation and no-show. If you have approval rules turned on, remember the client is told when the change is requested, not only when it is approved.

Thank-you messages. These are timed by the Thank-You Message Delay settings on the Appointment and Kiosk tabs, not here — auto-finish can close a ticket before the visit is really over, and the delay is what stops a thank-you arriving mid-haircut.

Staff notifications. Ticket reminders, walk-in alerts, request approvals, daily summaries, audit alerts and inventory warnings. Most of these also exist as a personal preference, so a member can quieten their own without changing yours.

Messaging

When your plan includes messaging, a Messaging block appears above notifications. It carries the messaging permissions (who can read and send) and messaging channel colours, which is how a busy inbox stays readable when conversations arrive from several channels at once.

A rule of thumb

Every notification you send is a small withdrawal from a client's patience. Turn on the ones that prevent a wasted chair — booking confirmation, the reminder, the no-show warning — and be sceptical about the rest.
