Notifications and the App Menu
The Profile tab: the whole page index, the unread bell, switching business, changing language, Perceny Academy, and the device menu.
Four tabs cover what you do all day. The Profile tab covers everything else — it is the app's index of every page the business has, plus the handful of things that belong to you and to this device.
The page indexCopy a link to this section
Under your name and the business switcher sit grouped panels — Account, Business, Payment Management, Monitoring, Business Settings — and they open expanded, so you can see what is in them rather than guessing at five headings.
They mirror the web dashboard's left navigation: the same rows, in the same groups, behind the same permissions. Rows that the app implements natively push a native screen; the rest open the dashboard inside the More tab, already signed in. A group whose every row is closed to you does not appear at all — so a stylist sees a short menu, not a long list of locked doors.
Tap a group's header to collapse it if you prefer the short list.
NotificationsCopy a link to this section
The Notifications row carries the unread count, and the count also shows on the group header, so a collapsed menu still tells you there is something waiting.
The screen itself:
- Unread filters to what you have not read.
- Entries are grouped Yesterday / Earlier so today's are on top.
- Tapping one takes you to the thing it is about — the appointment, the ticket, the request.
- Delete one ("Delete this notification? This cannot be undone.") or all of them ("Delete every notification?").
What generates a notification is decided by your notification settings, and by which permissions you hold — you are not notified about approvals you cannot approve. See What your clients actually receive for the client side of the same system.
Contact SupportCopy a link to this section
Top of the Account group, and ungated on purpose: whatever your role, you can reach us. It opens a message box plus our phone number and address for when a message is too slow.
Perceny AcademyCopy a link to this section
Right below support, because most "how do I…" questions have a tutorial. It opens this library in your device browser — every page you are reading now, on your phone.
Work Settings and today's shiftCopy a link to this section
Two rows the web dashboard keeps in its avatar dropdown:
- Work Settings — your own preferences: notifications, hours, business rules, Google Calendar. Native, searchable, and the same fields the dashboard shows. See Edit a stylist and their preferences.
- Shift List — today's punch line, for shops on a plan with multiple members.
Switching businessCopy a link to this section
Switch Business in the lower menu clears your selection and reopens the picker — for anyone who works at two shops. The switcher above the screen title does the same thing in one tap.
Signing out clears the selection too, which matters on a shared iPad: the next person gets the picker rather than landing inside the previous user's business.
LanguageCopy a link to this section
Language shows the language the app is in right now, and the sheet changes it. Your clients' messages are translated separately and automatically — this setting is about the app in your hands.
The device menuCopy a link to this section
Perceny Menu — the same menu you get by shaking the phone, which is here for anyone who does not know the gesture or whose device is bolted into a stand. It holds shortcuts for this device, not for your business:
- Go to Perceny Home — reload the app on the home page.
- Reader Settings — the card reader's own Stripe settings: network, Wi-Fi, appearance, registration code, bug report. Asks for the reader's admin PIN.
- App Settings — this device's Perceny settings page.
- Environment — points the app at another environment. Passcode-protected; you will not need it.
Reader network problems get solved from here. See Card reader will not connect.
VersionCopy a link to this section
Version shows the app build, the over-the-air update, the API version, whether the window is in phone or tablet layout, whether this is a smart-reader build, and whether Tap to Pay is available on this hardware.
Screenshot it when you report a problem. It answers the first four questions support would otherwise ask.
Signing outCopy a link to this section
Bottom of the menu, in red, with a confirmation: "Sign out of Perceny on this device?" It clears your tokens and the remembered business.
